In my examination,
I've determined that I cannot prove God doesn't exist,
yet I can
question God's existence due to the many contradictions surrounding
the teachings
of the Bible, my observations of humanity and events that occur around
me,
the contradictions
among religions, the laws of science and the
historical
atrocities committed in the name of God.

The New & Improved "Kinder, Gentler Ethical Atheist"Apology to Readers: We strayed from our original goal for this site. When we started back in 2001, our goal was: (1) to describe why we are atheists or agnostics by providing articles on how we arrived at our views; (2) to discuss ethics and morality, and state why atheists can be ethical, moral, and lead decent lives; and (3) to provide articles on science & education in a framework of ethical atheism. But, we fell into a position of debating, arguing and criticizing religion. While we do intend to explain fallacies in religious belief, we did not intend to overly criticize religious followers. Thanks to a few thoughtful emails from other atheist/agnostic readers, we are now back on track. Some readers still appreciate the previous articles/humor, so these are included in the "Dark Side", below.

Our past focus at the Ethical Atheist was far more critical of religion, the Bible, acts of religious followers and the historical atrocities of religion. If you are religious or easily offended by anti-religious commentary and humor, please do NOT go here! Consider yourself warned. |
